Bio

Shōkai Sinclair, Airloom founder
I was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and I grew up in the swamps of North Carolina. After a two-year intensive high school visual arts program at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, I attended San Francisco Art Institute, where I received a bachelor’s in urban studies.
In the same year, I began working at the nonprofit Art for Healing, placing donated works of art in healthcare facilities. I continued working in nonprofit administration, first as operations manager for the Museum of Performance & Design, then as the office manager for the Golden Gate Audubon Society, and finally as the director of marketing and communications for Jewish Federation of the East Bay.
In 2016, I founded Airloom, an interdisciplinary creative practice that includes design strategy, fine art, and handcrafted fragrances. I live in Berkeley, California.
